With Official launch of the Critical Centre Building, the Emergency room moved from the 1st Medical Building to the Critical Centre Building, with the hospital bed increased to 60 spots. The space was enhanced from 307 ping to 800 ping.

Typhoon Toraji arrived, the Hospital used the Helicopter to assist in Nantou disaster aid.

1999 Jiji earthquake – Established Emergency Disaster Assistance Medical Team. The Ministry of Health and Welfare assigned the Hospital as emergency medical hospital for the central area medical grid.
